Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival Introduces New Event Brand Identity Focused on Stewardship, Continuity, and Long-Term Legacy
Garnett, Kansas — April 10, 2026 — The Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival has introduced a new visual identity designed to strengthen the event’s foundation while honoring the history, community, and traditions that have defined it for decades.
“As the Revival has grown, so has what it represents,” said Tracy Modlin, Event President.
“This year, we’re introducing a more immersive experience built around the sights,
sounds, and style of vintage sports cars—the full atmosphere of that era.”The new identity helps communicate that expanded vision more clearly, reflecting not only period motorsport but also newly introduced elements that broaden the weekend experience across the park and downtown Garnett.
“We want people to feel like they’re stepping into another time for the weekend—and we’re excited for them to experience it for the first time this year.”
Rather than pursuing change for novelty, the new identity was developed as a restrained, purpose-driven system built for longevity. It is designed to perform consistently across signage, merchandise, digital platforms, and printed materials—ensuring clarity and continuity year to year.
The refreshed mark centers on a vintage racing helmet, replacing more commonly used checkered flag, racing-specific symbols.
“The Revival isn’t a race—it’s a return,” said Modlin. “The helmet is human, period-correct, and personal. It reflects the people who built this sport.”
The identity was developed in partnership with Omaha-based creative firm Leggera Creative, led by Creative Director Colby Shenkle, in close collaboration with event leadership.
“We wanted it to feel like something a privateer racer could have hand-painted in 1950 – chunky lines, confident lettering,” said Shenkle. “Something honest and earned. The goal was to build a foundation that could serve this event for decades.”
The new system is intentionally car brand-agnostic, ensuring that participants across makes, models, and eras can see themselves represented. Typography, color, and layout draw inspiration from mid-century motorsport publications and classic racing palettes, refined with a warm, vintage patina.

As part of the rollout, the Revival is also introducing GrandPrixMercantile.com, the event’s new official merchandise website. Designed as an extension of the Revival’s visual identity, the Mercantile will offer a curated collection of apparel, prints, and commemorative pieces inspired by the culture and character of historic sports car racing.
Proceeds from Grand Prix Mercantile directly support event operations, programming, and long-term preservation efforts connected to the historic Lake Garnett “Ghost Track”—helping ensure the Revival continues to grow while remaining rooted in its original spirit.
Together, the new identity and Grand Prix Mercantile reflect the Revival’s broader mission: celebrating the sights, sounds, and style of vintage racing while remaining welcoming, community-centered, and built to endure for future generations.
Held each October in Garnett, Kansas, the Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival brings the spirit of vintage
sports cars back to its original lakeside road course—surrounded by the sights, sounds, and style of motorsport’s golden era. The 2026 Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival will take place on October 10-11.
