LGGPR's Plan for Spectator and Participant Safety

LAKE GARNETT GRAND PRIX REVIVAL COVID19 PLAN – OCTOBER 2020 EVENT

On July 2nd, 2020, the Anderson County Board of Commissioners passed resolution 20-21, which mandated that the use of masks is encouraged but not legally required with the county. The Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival (LGGPR) event, which takes place October 8th-11th will follow suit, with masks and social distancing suggested but not mandatory.

We do ask that if you are still within a self-quarantine period because of previous contact with someone who tested positive, or are experiencing symptoms of the virus, you simply elect not to attend. In an effort to prevent potential transmission by asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic carriers, the LGGPR Board of Directors has elected to make a few changes.

FRIDAY NIGHT BANQUET AND REGISTRATION

Weather permitting, the kick-off banquet on Friday night will now be done “tailgate style”, outside the Community Center building. Registration will also take place outside in the Quonset hut building next to the Community Center. It is suggested, but not required, that you wear a mask and observe social distancing when in line for food or registration. A limited number of masks will be available.

SATURDAY CHARITY RIDES – TRACK GROUPS WHICH ALLOW PASSENGERS

It’s standard policy that a DOT-approved helmet is required to be worn by both drivers and passengers during charity rides and track groups, but for 2020 we are suggesting that both the driver and the passenger wear one of the following: full face helmet (vs open face), balaclava, or mask.

If you plan on being a passenger, we suggest that you bring your own helmet. For those who plan on bringing a helmet to share, we encourage you to bring a method of sanitizing it between rides. A mask is highly recommended if you are using a borrowed or shared helmet.

Both driver and passenger may opt out of a ride if the other person is unwilling to wear one of the recommended forms of facial protection.

A limited number of single-use masks will be available at the charity ride table.

CAR SHOW / TRACK EVENT / AUTOCROSS

It is suggested but not required that everyone wear a face mask and observe social distancing regulations during all other portions of the event, especially in areas when people tend to congregate, such as registration, driver’s meetings, food lines, awards ceremonies, etc. A limited number of single-use masks will be available as well as hand-sanitizers.
